Biography
Yaoyue focuses her practice on insurance coverage and risk transfer matters. She advises insurers on coverage obligations arising under a wide range of policies, including commercial general liability, businessowners, commercial automobile, umbrella, and homeowners policies.
She analyzes issues involving the duty to defend and indemnify, additional insured coverage, contractual indemnification, construction and premises liability claims, automobile losses, property damage, employer’s liability, late notice, and noncooperation. Her practice also includes assisting with declaratory judgment actions and evaluating coverage issues under Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts, and other jurisdictions’ laws. She prepares coverage opinions, reservation-of-rights letters, disclaimers, and tender correspondence.
Yaoyue earned her J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law, where she received a Merit Scholarship and a CALI Excellence for the Future Award. She also earned an LL.M. from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law and an LL.B. from Soochow University in China.
Fluent in Mandarin, Yaoyue brings a global perspective and experience with both the U.S. and Chinese legal systems to her practice.
Outside the office, she enjoys playing the piano and guzheng, dancing, hiking, traveling, and spending time with her family and her dog and cat.
