Biography
Jonathan is an experienced civil litigator who focuses his practice on defending businesses, insurers, property owners, manufacturers, transportation companies and other clients in complex liability matters. With more than a decade of legal experience, he has handled a broad range of matters involving general negligence, motor vehicle and trucking liability, premises liability, products liability, medical malpractice, professional liability, toxic torts, municipal liability and other commercial and personal injury disputes.
Jonathan manages matters through all stages of litigation, from initial investigation and pleadings through written discovery, depositions, expert discovery, dispositive motion practice, mediation, settlement negotiations and trial preparation. His experience includes high-exposure matters involving significant claimed injuries, complex medical causation questions, multi-party litigation and contractual and indemnification issues. His practice has included litigation throughout New York State as well as matters pending in federal court. He is admitted to practice in New York and before the United States District Courts for the Western, Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
In addition to his litigation practice, Jonathan has presented continuing legal education programs for organizations including the National Business Institute and Lawline. His presentations have addressed subjects involving civil litigation and negotiation, mediation strategy, personal injury and insurance defense practice, and the practical considerations attorneys face in evaluating and resolving litigated matters. His experience as both a practicing litigator and CLE presenter allows him to approach legal issues with an emphasis on effective advocacy, careful case evaluation and practical solutions for clients.
Jonathan earned his J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law and his B.A. in International Affairs, with a concentration in International Economics, from The George Washington University, where he graduated magna cum laude.
