Biography
Jason concentrates his practice on representing insurers in complex insurance coverage and bad faith matters. As a member of the firm's Insurance Solutions Practice Group, he advises and defends insurers in disputes involving property insurance coverage, liability insurance coverage, and allegations of bad faith claim handling.
Jason routinely assists insurers and insured parties in matters involving personal injury, premises liability, products liability coverage, professional liability claims involving administrators, medical professionals, and educational professionals, as well as automobile negligence and construction defect claims. He provides strategic counsel throughout the claims process and represents clients in coverage disputes and litigation.
In addition, Jason has significant experience defending insurers against bad faith claims arising from coverage determinations and claims handling practices. He represents insurers in disputes brought under statutes such as the Connecticut Unfair Trade Practices Act (CUTPA) and the Connecticut Unfair Insurance Practices Act (CUIPA), helping clients navigate complex regulatory and litigation challenges.
Prior to entering private practice, Jason gained extensive experience in policy analysis, legislative affairs, and public interest advocacy. He worked with the Emory International Humanitarian Law Clinic, where he drafted legal memoranda addressing issues of international humanitarian law for United States military defense counsel. He also evaluated legislative proposals affecting Georgia's child welfare system for the Barton Child Law & Policy Center.
Jason has authored reports and policy briefs for the general assemblies of Connecticut, Vermont, and Georgia. Through his work with the Institute for Municipal and Regional Policy, he served as a liaison to legislative staff and government agencies, helping advance the institute's legislative initiatives and policy objectives. His diverse background in legal research, public policy, and advocacy provides clients with a thoughtful and comprehensive approach to resolving complex insurance and coverage matters.
