Joan M. Richter

Joan brings over 20 years of legal experience in insurance defense work and litigation, including automobile negligence and premises liability.  She focuses her practice on representing insurance carriers and insureds in a wide range of civil matters, with an emphasis on delivering strategic and results-driven advocacy.  Joan is committed to providing thoughtful, efficient representation and achieving favorable outcomes for her clients.

Throughout her career, Joan has handled cases from inception through resolution, including all aspects of discovery, motion practice, depositions, mediations, and trial. Her extensive litigation background allows her to assess risk early, develop practical defense strategies, and guide clients through complex legal issues with clarity and confidence.  Joan takes pride in delivering high-quality legal representation and building lasting client relationships.

Prior to joining Gerber Ciano Kelly Brady, Joan worked as Staff Counsel for a major insurance carrier where she gained hands-on experience handling high-volume litigation and developing practical, cost-effective defense strategies.

Outside of her legal practice, Joan enjoys boxing, playing pickleball and spending time with her husband exploring new restaurants and local events.
