Biography

Bill focuses his practice on the litigation of complex insurance defense matters. He has provided representation to individuals and institutional clients on catastrophic personal injury, professional liability, automobile, and construction matters from pre-suit through jury selection and trial. In this capacity, Bill has extensive experience conducting robust discovery, including the analysis of complex written materials and the depositions of expert witnesses from myriad disciplines. He also has a proven record at oral argument, having successfully argued matters to disposition before the Connecticut Superior and Appellate Courts. Bill also provides services in the field of insurance coverage and assisted a national insurer analyzing complex questions of business interruption coverage in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Previously, Bill worked as a litigator at two well-established insurance defense firms. Prior to working in the fields of insurance defense and coverage, Bill advised municipal and corporate clients in the areas of land use and administrative enforcement. He also served as a trial clerk for the judges of Connecticut Superior Court and as a commissioner on the Inland Wetlands Commission for the Town of Hamden, Connecticut.

Bill believes in forging strong client relationships. He understands that although the prospect of litigation can be intimidating, an attorney can provide peace of mind by communicating the fundamentals of the process to the client and tailoring comprehensive, common-sense solutions to meet their needs.

When he is not serving clients, Bill enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He is an avid video game enthusiast and a passionate student of modern and early-modern European history who, along with his wife, loves adding to his family’s already extensive library.
