Cara is a member of the firm’s Insurance Solutions Practice Group. Qualified in both New York and the Isle of Man, she brings a multi-jurisdictional approach to the firm’s clients; specifically, her practice includes all aspects of run-off, transactional and litigated corporate governance and regulatory reinsurance, and international claim portfolio management.
Cara graduated in 2013 with an LLB (Hons) from the University of Bristol, where she was a member of the Bristol Innocence Project and Family Law Clinic for all three years. Upon graduating, she began work in the legal sector while completing her Legal Practice Course. She qualified as an Isle of Man Advocate in 2019. Her practice in the Isle of Man focused on commercial and civil dispute resolution, as well as financial crime and regulatory litigation. She relocated to New York in 2019 and was admitted to the New York Bar in 2022.
Cara’s wide breadth of experience means that her legal practice is both dynamic and suited to complex litigation, and her meticulous and personable nature guides clients through matters to achieve desired outcomes.
Outside of the office, Cara enjoys traveling, baking and hiking – she always tries to bag a Munro when visiting family at home in Scotland. Cara brought home her first foster dog 9 years ago and he never left; she now has three dogs, a cat, and continues to foster with a local rescue.
